Article by Angela V. Edwards

You may have heard of eczema, perhaps reading about it in a health book or seeing TV ads on the latest and greatest treatment for it. But what is it, and have you ever thought “what does eczema look like?” After all, if you think you may have it, you should know how to visually detect it as this is the first step to treating this condition.

Eczema is a skin condition which manifests itself in skin irritation and continual itchiness. The key thing to think about here is that it can be very easy to just dismiss the above symptoms as a one time occurrence, similar to walking through a patch of poison ivy and having to deal with the continual itchiness, appearance and urge to scratch. However, if this persists for days, then you may have eczema. This condition can be hidden for some time, but if the area of the body it has affected is prominent, such as the face or neck, then it not only can become irritating due to constant scratching, but it can become embarrassing as well. Why? It all comes back to the question “what does eczema look like?”

Over time, if you get repeated stares or questions, this can have a negative effect on your disposition and self confidence, and if you are used to having clear skin as well as complexion, you are reminded of the condition every time you look in the mirror. Ultimately, this can cause you do doubt yourself because you feel bad about the way you look.

So, what does eczema look like? Eczema can look like dry or cracked skin, a similar effect to being in the sun all day without some type of lotion. There are also several different types of eczema as well, ranging from seborrhea eczema, which can give the affected area the appearence of scaliness and in some cases can turn the skin yellow in color and is usually prevalent around the head, neck and face.

At this point you might think that this completely answers the question what does eczema look like, but there is another kind of eczema to be aware of as well. Dishidrotic eczema primarily affects the hands and feet, although can affect the face as well and looks like blisters. This particular form of eczema has the potential to be very uncomfortable as the sores tend to run quite deep beneath the skin.

There are, as you can see, several of different types of eczema, so the best way to answer the question “what does eczema look like” is to see your doctor as he or she will be able to effectively diagnose the specific type of eczema you have and prescribe treatments that you can undertake. Answering the question “what does eczema look like” can seem to be unanswerable, but if you look for a few basic things, you can, to a limited extent, determine if you have it, as well as which type, before seeing your doctor.

Eczema is a skin disease that is often bothersome, and those who live with it know exactly how painful it can be when their eczema flares up. It’s unfortunate that even the slightest thing can cause eczema to surface, causing you pain and itching that can last for days. And while doctors prescribe creams to treat the eczema, it only treats the symptoms, causing it to return over and over.

Most of those who suffer from eczema develop it at an early age. Once kids begin to hit their adolescent years, eczema can fade away, but then return years later once adulthood hits. Only a few get lucky enough to “grow out” of their eczema.

If you’ve been living with eczema and are sick of the same old prescription creams and traditional methods, you should consider giving natural methods of treatment a shot. Yes – there are natural treatments that exist for eczema. In fact, they usually work better than the chemical creams you’ve been using all these years!

For example, natural herbs and oils such as extra virgin olive oil and vitamin D oil are great in the treatment of eczema. They work to put moisture back in the skin, eliminating the dry, cracked skin and provide soothing relief from the pain. Not only do these types of treatments help heal and prevent eczema, but they also do it at a cost that is affordable (when compared to prescription ointments).

Natural treatments for eczema work the best when combined with other natural methods. You should consider trying some out – they can help you save money and help you gain something back in your life: total control!

Dealing with eczema is a difficult thing tolive with. The consistent itching, swelling and pain can make anyone nearly go insane. Plus, it makes everyday routine things tough to complete. In short, those who live with eczema seem to feel as if they’ll never get rid of it. Thankfully, there are a couple eczema cures out there that can help not only get rid of eczema, but also prevent it too.

Regular Eczema Treatment Methods Are Not Effective

Honestly, the traditional eczema treatments (like prescribed creams and ointments that are given to you by your family doctor) don’t actually help in prevention of eczema. Sure, they can help ease the symptoms of eczema, but that’s nearly all they will do. They don’t prevent it from returning. Not only that, but they can sometimes cause eczema to get worse, as they are typically filled with harsh chemicals. They should only be used in extreme cases.

With that said, natural eczema treatmentsare quickly becoming a household name in the world of eczema. They’ve been proven safe and highly effective. And, they have far less side effects than traditional treatments.

What sort of home remedies for eczema exist? Take a look at these 2 below:

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is a natural oil that works wonders for eczema. It helps regain moisture into the skin and soothes the skin, providing fast relief. When used often, it helps heal dry, cracked skin and reduces swelling. It can be found in most grocery stores or pharmacies in the health and vitamin section.

Epsom Salt

Epsom salt is another amazing treatment for eczema. It works to get rid of dead skin cells, which causes the frequent itching associated with eczema. It also helps to cleanse any open wounds caused by eczema and reduces swelling. Use this with tea tree oil for the maximum treatment benefits.

These 2 excellent home remedies for eczema are only 2 of the tons of different remedies that exist out there. In order to treat eczema the right way, you need to understand the exact dosage levels and use the right combinations. Once you figure that out}Once you do that, you’ve got the exact formula to help get rid of and cure eczema for good!

Wait – Before You Go, Read This Below:
