It comes in many terms, like gravitational eczema, stasis eczema and venous eczema but it is widely known as varicose eczema. It is a type of eczema that appears in the lower extremities particularly at the skin around varicose veins. Although it can be very irritating, it is a minor condition and leads to no major condition.

Being overweight and obese predisposes a person to this type of eczema. Like the general symptom of eczema, it appears as a red blister and very itchy.

Even though the cause of the condition is yet to be explained, it has been linked to allergic reactions and genetic/hereditary links.

Who are the individuals most vulnerable to this type of eczema? Those elderlies and inactive individuals who are always subjected to allergy and bacterial infections make up the qualifications of the development of this chronic condition.

*it is advised to avoid injury and infection to the leg.
*keep the leg elevated during resting hours.
*stay active and take regular walks eve for just 30 minutes total in a day.
* maintain foot and leg hygiene everyday
*use emollients to avoid dryness and itchiness as well to the skin.
*do not use moisturizers without consulting the doctor. Some moisturizers contain irritating substances that may aggravate the condition.

If the appearance of varicose eczema became ulcerated and pus is present, it is best to rush to the hospital the soonest possible time for further medical management.
